Class Statement
The Advanced Flash Games Workshop course was designed to provide an additional classroom experience for students to work on more complex games in flash. This course was added in reaction to the overwhelming amount of students who have already taken the Advanced Flash course (or both Advanced Flash courses) and wanted to take the "next" course. Recommended prerequisites for the Workshop course would be either the Advanced Flash course or a solid working knowledge of actionscript.
You can think of this course as a continuation of the the Advanced Flash course without the lengthy in depth lessons covering the fundamental building blocks of advanced Flash. While these topics most likely will be discussed, they will be reinforced (if needed) within the context of building actionscript 2.0 based games. The primary focus of the course is to work as a group on larger projects during class with an instructor present to guide exploration and troubleshoot. The games assigned will be based upon the interests and needs of the students.
